Position Purpose:

Ensures that the directives of the company and facility manager are followed with regards to establishing, monitoring, and maintaining process productivity and efficiencies on each of the operating shift at the incinerator plant. Monitors and ensures that regulatory and safety compliance polices are strictly adhered to. Fosters a One Team, One Goal production culture.

Key Job Activities:

1) Ensure the incinerator employees and shift leads maintain productivity standards in all phases of their operations. Review shift productivity to identify maximum efficiencies and operational opportunities.
2) Manages all Incineration personnel and insure they perform their tasks safely while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times.
3) Manages and maintains regulatory compliance within the plant and plant yard. Maintain . orders incinerator processing supplies consisting of PPE, uniforms, cleaning material, processing chemicals, etc., to ensure that adequate inventories are always available.
4) Initiate actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices.
5) Responsible for the hiring, training and development of Incineration personnel. This also includes insuring that all monthly and other required employee training, including safety and compliance training is maintained and up to date.
6) Manages and maintains a high standard of operational excellence in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, either internally or externally. Coordinate customer needs by adhering to a defined processing schedule.
7) Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals.
8) Performs facility audits, review of all applicable regulatory paperwork, e.g., Title V or other permit or company specific records, etc.).
9) Manages and monitors daily performance of incinerator employees, directly or within guidance, providing feedback (including growth opportunities). Influence hiring and firing decisions and disciplinary procedures. Assist in resolving plant problems and issues between sales, drivers, and plant/maintenance team.
10) Works with Facility Manager to ensure budget compliance for the operation of the plant process.
11) Coordinates with maintenance concerning shutdown scheduling and maintenance needs.
Works directly with the Facility Manager and the Maintenance Manager to identify opportunities for operational improvements as well as identifying short term and long-term opportunities.
12) Vigorously supports Stericycle's commitment to safety, compliance, corporate cultural initiatives, and supports all policies and procedures as established within the policies and procedures manual.
13) Working with incineration shift leads, manages and schedules employee vacation and backfills as needed.
14) Performs other related duties as required or requested.
